Time to spare

As with so much of the web, as I spent 10 minutes of my morning reading this site from start to finish, I thought to myself, "some people have too much time on their hands".

The vege garden

My vegetable patch in all it`s glory!!

The beginnings of a aubergine

It may be a pumpkin or maybe a melon. I`m not sure.

Our first tomato

A pepper to be

New hair

I decided to get all my hair lopped off last week for summer. This is a bad, bad picture due to it being the end of a rather hot and sticky day, but the only other choice was one taken in the women`s loos that was sideways too, so sweaty and tired you get.

The hungry, hungry caterpilla

This is what the evil stinging caterpillas look like. Now you can understand Mai!!

Roped in

Has been a little late in the coming, but at last here are some photos from Sunday`s cricket. It has been one of those weeks where I have had nothing to do and so have achieved less than nothing. I think when you are busy, if you have a free half hour, you do something with it, but when you have a whole day, nay, a whole week of nothingness, you just put stuff off and suddenly it is Friday and the total achievement has been reading the internet and finishing a novel. Anyway, back to the cricket...

H, J and I had great plans to sit at the side and eat cucumber sandwiches and drink Pimms on a tartan blanket and watch M running around. Well, none of us had any time, so there were no sandwiches, you can`t buy Pimms in Japan and we don`t own a tartan blanket, so generally thinks weren't going to plan. Then, somehow H and I ended up on the pitch!! Guess the after-bbq made up for it ;)

Is this it?

At the beginning of July we have to go to a leavers ceremony at the city hall to meet the mayor and eat lunch and try to avoid all the bitter ALTs who are just going to sit around and bitch about how this day couldn`t have come any sooner. Today I got the paperwork for it land on my desk and it had been kindly translated for me. It was entitled "A ceremony for the expiration of ALT". It sounds like we are all going to be slaughtered in some mass ritual. Suddenly, on this wet Friday morning, a day off school to eat warm sandwiches is seeming less appealing.

Lovely

Finally my "i love you" bean from Korea has come to life. How...lovely...

You may ask, how it is possible to have a favourite alcohol that you have never even tasted. But I do. I don`t particularly like shochu, so have never actually tried this, but it is still indisputably my favourite Japanese drink. Purely because of the name. Literally translated it means "drunk wizard". I love it!!

Himekami

In a strange bout of health enthusiasm, we decided to spend this Sunday up a mountain. Even on the way there in the car we were a little unsure about how exactly we had ended up in this situation, and even more so when only 20 minutes into the climb, we hit a bit that was pretty much vertical.
So we took a quick break to play with the spring water.

But with much huffing and puffing we made it up. After all we had the motivation of a big picnic when we got to the top, so we managed to keep going.

JTB was of course annoyingly not out of breath and had a distinct lack of sweat. Maybe we shall not be taking him again.

The excitement caused by finding out we were almost at the bottom and would soon be in an onsen.

Little England

With only two days to go until England`s first world cup match, my efforts to convert the Japanese supporters is going well....

What my mouse said

I found a website where you draw a mouse and it tells you your personality. Yehr right, you say, but I would like to think from the results it gave me that it is totally accurate.

It says I am...
  • a creative individual who inspires others
  • a good listener
  • have a good love life
  • realistic and factual
  • have no time for details, am an emotional risk taker

mm...maybe not.

My computer knows what I`m thinking...

Has anyone else installed the google toolbar? On mine it has a virtual mood ring. I tried to get rid of it cause I thought it was a stupid idea, I mean how can google know how I am feeling? I failed due to rubbish admin restrictions on my computer, and so there it stayed. But now it is freaking me out slightly. It does seem to change pretty much in line with how I am feeling. Yes, I am aware it is total rubbish, but still rather freaky!

I am...

Witty
